Meet the friendly staff at Companion Pet Clinic!

Sheena Haney, DVM

Dr. Sheena Haney was born and raised right here in Klamath Falls.  She spent her childhood playing softball, enjoying Southern Oregon’s endless outdoor recreation activities, and of course caring for animals.  “I’ve always had my hands in a little bit of everything – from tending to family pets to branding and vaccinating cattle.  I’ve even been intensely involved in wildlife rehabilitation throughout the state.”

Dr. Haney earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and a minor in Chemistry from Oregon State University in 2005.  She then moved to Pomona, California, where she completed her veterinary degree at Western University of Health Sciences College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010.

After completing veterinary school, Dr. Haney moved to Pocatello, Idaho where she worked as a small animal veterinarian for 5 years.  During this time, she enjoyed building relationships with her patients and their humans.  “The bond between a pet-owner and their pet is always a remarkable thing - whether that animal has been in the family for a few days or over a decade.  One of my favorite parts of this job is being in a position to help pet owners maintain that precious connection with their furry family members,” she says.

After the birth of their second child in June, 2015, Dr. Haney and her husband, Royse, decided it was time to move their family back to Klamath Falls.  Dr. Haney then joined Companion Pet Clinic in October, 2015.  Being so familiar with the area’s beautiful landscapes and people made coming back to work in her hometown an easy decision.  Dr. Haney adds, “I have had the opportunity to work with and learn from a great many of this town’s wonderful residents – from educators and researchers, to public service volunteers and farmers – and am proud to be back as a part of the area’s veterinary community.”

Dr. Haney is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Oregon Veterinary Medical Association.  She is also accredited with the United States Department of Agriculture.  Her professional interests include dentistry, wound management, and dermatology.  Dr. Haney has two children, Henry and Esme.  The family also shares their home with a pit bull terrier named Lily, who is a retired blood donor.
